Mozambique

For those looking for something truly remote, Robin Fourie Safaris offers specialised hunting safaris in the vast wilderness of northern Mozambique. Hunting takes place in large-scale concessions, extending over 450,000 hectares, with hundreds of kilometres of river systems, floodplains, grasslands and miombo woodland.

Free ranging populations of game are abundant and highly diverse. A full range of dangerous and plains game can be hunted, including unique species such as Roosevelt sable, Johnston’s impala, Crawshay’s zebra, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest and Niassa wildebeest, along with lion, leopard, Buffalo, hippo and crocodile. The landscape is breathtaking, with granite inselbergs rising above the miombo woodland, broad river systems and open floodplains stretching across the country. These areas also support a remarkable variety of bird and insect life.

These are genuine wilderness areas where wildlife has moved freely for generations and where hunting remains a remote, self-sufficient experience. Days are spent travelling and hunting on foot through large tracts of country, far from developed towns and modern civilisation. At the same time, these landscapes are home to local communities who have lived here for generations, maintaining traditional ways of life, local customs and subsistence practices. They are an important functional part of the landscape and its ecology.

Mozambique is available by special arrangement, with each safari planned around the particular season, species and requirements of the hunter.

For the hunter looking for something beyond the usual safari, hunting in northern Mozambique is a life changing experience.
